2026 Wisconsin Governor’s Outdoor Industry Award in the Destination of the Year

This year, the Timberland Hills was nominated for the 2026 Wisconsin Governor’s Outdoor Industry Award in the Destination of the Year category.

The Wisconsin Governor’s Outdoor Industry Awards honor the leaders, innovators, and collaborators shaping Wisconsin’s outdoor recreation industry. Hosted by the Wisconsin Office of Outdoor Recreation, these awards recognize outstanding efforts that strengthen communities, support economic vitality, and elevate outdoor recreation across the state.

Timberland Hills Foundation Vice President, Erik Lindseth, was instrumental in bringing the mountain bike trails to life, so it was fitting that he was the one chosen to attend the special celebration at the Wisconsin Executive Residence that honored all the 2026 award nominees and award recipients. Timberland Hills was not selected as a winner this year, but it was an honor being nominated.

A special thank you goes out to all the volunteers who helped shape the Timberland Hills ski trails and mountain bike trails to what they are today. The nomination for the 2026 Wisconsin Governor’s Outdoor Industry Award in the Destination of the Year category recognizes this hard work and the contribution that Timberland Hills has given to the $12 billion Wisconsin outdoor recreation industry.
